I earned 50,000 but lost 300,000 yet I am still happy

If you are one of those who participated in Merry Mart Initial Public Offering, you definitely earned and most probably lost. Don't worry you are not alone.

I am one of those who was fortunate enough to participate in PSE Easy Local Stock Investment which allocates a percentage of the IPO offering to small investors. For a maximum amount of Php 100,000 I was given an allocation of 100,000 shares for Php 1.00.

I was able to fund my investment thru my mid year bonus courtesy of the City Government of Pasig and a Php 70,000 personal loan with Pasig City Employees Multipurpose Cooperative. I applied thru PSE Easy website as a Local Stock Investment and funded my Citiseconline (COL) account thru Bank of the Philippine Island.

I did not go personally to the bank, instead I transfer my funds from Landbank Philippines thru EasyPay directly to my BPI Account. I funded my COL account using my BPI Mobile App.

On the date of trading, I have seen Merry Mart hit the ceiling of Php 1.50, a 50 cent gain from Php 1.00.
Being a newbie investor, I grab this sudden windfall, and earn a Php 50,000 return from trading my MM stocks.

Next day, I have seen Merry Mart hit another ceiling at Php 2.25 per share, at the back of my mind I said if I had been patient I should have earned Php 1.25 per share or Php 125,000 return for a Php 100,000 investment.

Third day, Merry Mart hit another ceiling at Php 3.37 per share, again if I did not trade early I would have earned Php 2.37 per share or Php 237,000 return for a Php 100,000 investment

Fourth day Merry Mart traded at a highest amount of Php 4.50 per share, If I hold to my position and traded at this rate I would have earned Php 3.50 or Php 350,000 return for a Php 100,000 investment.

That how I earned Php 50,000 but lost the opportunity to earn Php 300,000. Notwithstanding the lost opportunity I am still happy for a Php 50,000 gain is still a big win for me.
